Birthday Book Program has begun!!!
What is it and how does it work?
The Birthday Book program is run by parent volunteers at Guadalupe, under the Home and School Club.
1. Books are pre-purchased for the library by HSC.
2. Letter is sent home before student's birthday.
3. Families make a donation to the program, if they choose.
4. Parent volunteer selects a book from B.Book shelf. Student birthday label is placed inside the book.
5. Parent Volunteer/Teacher select a day to present book to child (not always on the actual birthday).
6. Parent Volunteer delivers it to the child, sharing a little about the book to the class and often singing, "Happy Birthday.
7. Child takes book home to share for 1- 3 weeks.
8. Child returns the book to school.
9. Book is placed in the library shelves for all to enjoy!
